UnitedDelta, Sun Country and American Airlines all provide non-stop service to Roatan from the United States. You should check them individually, as they provide different services on different days. All above airlines also offer service to San Pedro Sula on the mainland of Honduras, where you can catch a commuter flight to Roatan (Cayman Airline, Sosa). From Canada, you can use WestJet and Sunwing. Tropic Air is flying from Belize. If you are traveling from Europe, the best connection is direct flight Madrid-San Pedro Sula-Madrid with Air Air Europa.

You can search for airfares from your home city on each of these airlines’ websites. Roatan’s airport code is RTB and San Pedro Sula’s is SAP.

Most taxi drivers charge around 30$ (30min drive) for 4 people and an additional $10 for making a stop at the grocery store. Encanto del Mar is not a beach-front property, however, all beaches on Roatan are public.

You are free to set up your towel anywhere on the beach as long as you are not within the fenced hotels space. If you wish to use sunbeds and umbrellas, you can rent them from any hotel. Some places like Argentinian Grill, Beachers, and Bananarama will allow you to use their facilities in exchange for ordering drinks or food.

Sorry, we are not pet friendly property. However, Encanto del Mar is having a dog in a fence yard.

Unfortunately, we do not have laundry services available on our premises. The average length of stay for our guests is between 4-10 days, which usually doesn’t require the usage of laundry facilities. If you require this service, we suggest that you contact Victor’s laundry shop, who provide pick-up and drop-off services, or visit one of the many laundry stores located in the West End.

Yes you will have to. Any excessive cleaning required due to stained bed sheets, carpets, furniture, ruined or lost towels, will also be subject to a damage deposit. The fee charged for cleaning only covers the cleaning services provided after your stay. For longer stays, as per the rental agreement conditions, your bed sheets and towels will be replaced after 7 or 10 days. However, if you require more comfort, you may contact us, and we will arrange for an early change of linens and towels at an additional fee of 60$. You will also need to download the WhatsApp app to connect with operators as it is the most common way of communication on the island.

Yes, you will need a valid passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the date of your travel. All guests traveling to Honduras are required to have a passport to enter the country. Please make sure your passport is in order before you leave for your vacation. We recommend checking with your passport agency to avoid any problems with your passport. Please note that we will not refund or credit your balance due to issues with your passport.

Honduran lempirais the official currency, but US dollars are widely accepted on the island. However, we suggest carrying cash, as credit cards may not be accepted in all establishments. Please ensure the bills are in good condition (no rips or marks). You can check the current USD/HNL exchange rate here (https://www.westernunion.com/us/en/currency-converter/usd-to-hnl-rate.html). Before you travel, we suggest you inform your bank and ask about their fees. Please note that Travelers Checks are not accepted in most businesses or banks and are not recommended.

Yes, there are several ATM machines available on the island. The closest ones to us are located in West Bay Mall and Infinity Bay Resort. You can also find them in Coxen Hole, at the airport, Plaza Mar-French Harbour, and in local grocery stores and gas stations around the island.

During Holidays, storms, heavy rains, power outages and slow or no internet connection are common occurrences. However, our home has high-speed internet access available for you to connect to via wireless. Please note that weather conditions are beyond our control, and there may not be much we can do about them. However, if there is a power outage, our generators should automatically turn on to restore the basic power. If it doesn’t, please let us know. If there is an interruption with the internet connection, kindly contact us. Currently we have 4 internet accounts. We will coordinate with the internet service provider for further assistance.

Did you know that Roatan doesn’t have a water treatment plant or a community water system? When someone refers to “community water,” it means that the property or development has a well. We rely on only two sources of water, rainwater that is collected into a cistern from our roofs, and draw-well water supplied by others. This means no rain, no water. Please use tap water wisely.

Similarly, Roatan does not have surface water treatment or sewage systems. Instead, we all have septic tanks, which can be either a soak-away or conventional-pump system. Our property has both. Please do not throw toilet paper, tissues, sanitary napkins, and hygiene products into the bowl. We have provided small trash bins with trash bags in each bathroom for this purpose.

This is a common question that we receive from our guests. The reason for this is because on the island of Roatan, the Roatan Electric Company (RECO) is the only provider of electricity and has a complete price monopoly. They produce power using imported and shipped natural gas. The current price for 1KW/h in the West Bay area is 0.41 US$. We kindly request that you switch off the AC every time you leave the unit to help save energy and reduce costs.

Unfortunately, property doesn’t have available parking for guests. We have only two available spots. One, is used by owner and the other one is reserved for taxi drivers, tour operators, water delivery truck, septic truck, maintenance vehicle, cleaning service etc. Please talk with us and we will check our schedule to see if we can assist you. Public parking is available down the West Bay Street, not further than 200m.

We would be delighted to recommend some excellent car rental companies on the island. Some of the most popular ones include Enterprise and Avis, which offer pick-up and drop-off services right at the airport. The closest rental store to Encanto del Mar is Captain Van, which provides cars, motorcycles, and scooters for rent. Please note that we don’t have parking space available at Encanto. Public parking is available down the street.

Even though the official language of Honduras is Spanish, the most commonly spoken language in Roatan is Caribbean English. Restaurant menus and prices are in English.

Since this is the tropics, there are bugs. However, we have taken environmentally-friendly measures to control them inside the units. As a precaution, you should pack insect repellent for outdoor use. You can also buy repellents on the island.

Absolutely, and it is of excellent quality. The International Care Unit is located across the street and has a doctor on-site 24/7. Alert International Rescue-Air Ambulance is also available at the West Bay mall.

No, vaccinations are not required to visit Roatan.

Roatan is actually one of the most affordable islands in the Caribbean. Although the US dollar is accepted, the official currency is the lempira. As a general indicator of prices, a local beer costs around $2 and cocktails are around $5. So, it’s pretty affordable.
